Brick Floor Maintenance Guide
This guide is intended to help our customers with daily cleaning and long-term maintenance of their brick floors (or walls). These cleaning methods are intended for brick surfaces that have been sealed.
If your brick is not yet sealed, you will want to gently clean the surface and seal both the surface of the brick and the grout in between your bricks.
Brick flooring Basic maintenance Do’s and Don’ts
DO: Ensure all sealers you use are especially designed for brick. Aqua Mix carries a great line of sealants.
DO: Use a diluted natural cleaner for daily maintenance of your brick and a specially designed cleaning for hard to remove stains or the occasional deep cleaning. We recommend using Aqua Mix brand cleaners or Stain Solver for deep cleaning.
DO: Solvent-based polish can be applied over water-based polish.
DON’T: Use acids, strong soaps or any abrasives on brick floors or walls. This will erode and damage the surface of your brick and in some cases will permanently change the coloring of your brick floor.
DON’T: Water-based polish cannot be applied over solvent-based polish
Day-to-Day cleaning of your Brick flooring:
